Beyond the Beaches of the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has been a welcoming destination for quite some time now.  As we set off to discover it magic, from the onset we realized it is a destination that has it all.  Beautiful beaches does not start do describe properly the magnitude of it.  There has not been a beach that we have not fallen in love with in the island nation.  But despite how wonderful the beaches are, it is not just about laying out in the Dominican Republic.  Of course, if that is what you want, it is yours for the taking.  6 million yearly visitors can attest to this.

Beyond the Beaches

There is just so much that the Dominican Republic offers, that you can definitely satisfy every desire in this paradise where service is always at its best.
– Water: of course having the beach means that there are plenty of water activities that you can indulge in.  Snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing are just to name a few.  Really anything and everything you would like to do as far as water is concerned you can. Beter yet, you can decide if you want to play in the water as a group or have a personalized diving tour for example.
– Culture: learn to dance salsa, discover about local products or explore history.  It is all available for you in every corner of the country.  A great place for you to try out is Mundo Autentico for everything about local productsIMG_3257
-Food: let your inner foodie indulge in the local flavors and taste Dominican delicacies like mangu or coconut desserts.  From the simple to the extravagant, renowned chefs are available at the very many rated restaurants to please your palate.  From a simple fruit to an intricate french dish made with the freshest of ingredients, you can’t go wrong.
-Inland: mountains, valleys, caves, cascades, secret lagoons are all waiting for you to set foot on them for an experience of a lifetime that you will never forget.
-History:  as the first place the Christopher Columbus reached during his discovery of the new world, there is plenty of history to take in and breathe in.  From the architectures to the customs and subtopics like the survival of African cultures, there is much to learn and brush up on here.

A Place For Everyone

What I love is that you can make your Dominican vacation the most exciting, varied and fulfilling vacation ever.  Every member of your family will be able to find something that talks to their heart.  R&R, adventure, party, and fun are at every turn ensuring family memories that you will cherish forever.  I confirmed as we interviewed Simón Suárez, who is the president of the national association of hotels and tourism (ASONAHORES), who told us that  just about 12000 new rooms will be available in the country to satisfy tourism demands and that about 17% of that is for Punta Cana.   Just take a look at a fabulous resort in Punta Cana called Royalton.
Besides making sure that each of us gets the room of our dreams, ASONAHORES will be echoing our thoughts about what you can do beyond the beaches. The entire country will be an open book for each of us to write our fabulous vacation chapters which will include a wider variety of eco-tourism, cultural tourism, and adventures experiences.
In my next visit to the Dominican Republic, I hope to visit caves and do some historical visits.  I just can’t wait to go back.
